WELCOME
The Champaign-Urbana (CU) Community Fab Lab is a makerspace located on the University of Illinois: Urbana-Champaign campus. For those who may not have heard of makerspaces before, a makerspace is a place where people with shared interests can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. In our makerspace, you’ll find tools and software you can learn and utilize to make projects all your own. During open hours, we are open to visitors from all around the community and campus.
MISSION:
Access for all: Inspire creativity, discovery, and dynamic learning
The Champaign-Urbana (CU) Community Fab Lab supports campus and community members through research, university courses, community engagement and programming, professional development, youth summer camps, and design and fabrication support for all students, staff, faculty, and community members. We seek to play a boundary spanning role across those areas and intersect with on- and off-campus communities. We are committed to creating an open, community-oriented, and capacity-building makerspace, fostering a dynamic experiential learning environment, and sparking interdisciplinary groundbreaking discoveries.
